When people around the world think of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, they only think of Pauly, Snooki and the cast of “Jersey Shore”. In truth, the show is nothing like the reality.
Seaside Heights is a small community on the Barnegat peninsula, and a magnificent remnant of the wonderful attractions of the Jersey shore and New York beaches of yesteryear. Amusement parks, boardwalk eateries, arcades, games, bars, clubs and all sorts of attractions, not to mention a fantastic beach all combine to make a family destination worth visiting.
Take a ride on the skyride, watching the people below on the boardwalk, or out on the beach beneath. Enjoy the carousel or the roller coaster or some of the death-defying amusements that strike terror in the faint of heart, but bring excitement to the more adventurous among us.
Stroll the boardwalk, stopping in at one of the many arcades, play a game of skeeball or try to shoot the clown with a watergun accurately enough to win a prize. You’ll enjoy a cheesesteak, Italian sausages, fresh lemonade and a Jersey shore favorite, funnel-cakes. As you promenade along the boardwalk, you’ll see everyone enjoying the salty, fresh ocean breezes and many delights Seaside Heights affords.
Be sure to stop in at Kohr’s for a good old fashioned frozen custard or a fresh orangeade. Play miniature golf in town, or try the waterslides. Or just spend a glorious afternoon sunning on the beach and enjoying the cool Atlantic waters. No matter what you’d like to enjoy, Seaside Heights is the place to do it. If you see one of the cast members of that crazy show… we apologize in advance.
A day trip from New York or Philadelphia, this little daycation paradise is a great place to visit, day or night or both, for young or old, rich or poor.
