STRAIGHT FROM THE EARTH: Irresistible Vegan Recipes for Everyone by Myra Goodman and Marea Goodman is a fresh approach to farm-to-table vegan recipes. Myra Goodman, the co-founder of Earthbound Farm, and her daughter Marea, are skillful home cooks who have developed some delicious and satisfying recipes that go beyond the typical vegan fare. I am still laughing at her other autobiographical books “Tender at the Bone,” and “Comfort Me with Apples.” Reichl brings her humor into play in this fun novel who’s main character leaves California for New York to start a new job at a food magazine and begin a new life, leaving behind her family, and a heartbreaking mystery about her beloved sister.
