White Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Sauce

White Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Sauce

  • 8 ounces light corn syrup
  • 12 ounces white chocolate, melted
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Quart whipping cream
  • 1 Cup Confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pound bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 Cup light cream or half-and-half
  1. For mousse, stir corn syrup into white chocolate; set aside to cool to room temperature.
  2. Whip egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually add granulated sugar; continue to beat until whites are stiff and shiny. Gently fold into cooled chocolate mixture.
  3. Whip cream to soft peaks; whip in Confectioners’ sugar and vanilla. Fold gently into the chocolate mixture.
  4. For sauce, melt bittersweet chocolate. Add light cream and stir until smooth. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  5. Portion mousse into glasses or into a single pan. Top with sauce and chill.
  6. To serve from pan, scoop mousse as desired and top with sauce.
