Simply wonderful in breads, rolls, cakes and pastries, this seductive filling is a gem.

Walnut-Apricot Filling
Recipe type: Fillings
Serves: 32 servings
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1/4 Cup white wine
  • 2 Cups ground walnuts
  • 1 Tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest
  • 2 Tablespoons apricot jam or orange marmalade
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 Cup raisins
  • 2 Tablespoons fine dried bread crumbs
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and wine. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. In a medium bowl combine all remaining ingredients. Pour in hot sugar mixture and mix well; let cool.
NOTES: Use with Christmas Poppy Seed and Nut Rolls.

Yield: 3 cups.
