Simple and easy to prepare, this delightful frosting is great for cakes or cupcakes. As easy to make as opening a can, so go for the real thing.

Vanilla Frosting
Recipe type: Frostings
Serves: Enough for 1 cake
  • 1 Cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon shortening
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Beat until spreading consistency.
  2. Refrigerate remaining frosting for several days until needed again.
  3. Makes enough to top one small sheet cake. Double or triple for larger cakes.
