This exceptional Irish marinade for steaks is simply superb. Truly enticing.

Streams' Stout Marinade for Steaks
Recipe type: Marinades
Serves: 1 recipe
  • 16 ounce bottle stout ale
  • 1 Cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 green onion; chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar; (about)
  • 1 Tablespoon ground garlic
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  1. Blend all ingredients together; check seasoning.
  2. Marinate steak overnight and grill or broil.
To properly marinate the steaks, place meat in a ceramic or glass pan and cover with the marinade. Cover this with plastic and refrigerate overnight for at least 12 to 24 hours. Meat will be moistened, flavored and softened.

Reserve some sauce before marinating steaks. Bring this to a mild boil and thicken with beurre manie or roux, mixing thoroughly and cooking at least 5 minutes so flour properly cooks. Use this sauce as an accompaniment to the steaks.
