Mom’s Tuna Salad is as American as Apple Pie, and similarly, no two mom’s make it alike.  This recipe has a great deal of flexibility and infinite variety.  Delicious!

Tuna Salad Sandwich

Ingredients
  • 2 cans tuna (in water), drained
  • 2 Tablespoons finely chopped gherkins
  • 1/2 stalk celery, washed and sliced thin
  • mayonnaise
  • 2 jumbo eggs, hard-boiled and chopped
  • black pepper, to taste
  • Kaiser or other rolls for sandwiches
Instructions
  1. Add tuna to a large bowl.
  2. Add the gherkins and celery. Blend well with a fork.
  3. Add some mayonnaise, in small quantities to reach the right consistency.
  4. Include the chopped eggs, blending well into the mixture. Add more mayonnaise to keep the consistency as you like it.
  5. Add pepper to taste.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Use a scoopful to make a sandwich on a roll.
