Ingredients
  • 1 28 ounce can Italian tomatoes, crushed (by your hands)
  • 1/4 Cup olive oil
  • 1/2 Cup red wine
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried sweet basil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 28 ounces tomato puree
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Saute garlic and onion in oil until lightly browned (add garlic at the last minute). Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 hours stirring often to prevent sticking.
