Honey-Baked Barbecue Chicken

Honey-Baked Barbecue Chicken

Ingredients
  • 1 chicken (2 to 3 pounds); cut up
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1/2 Cup tomato sauce
  • 1 green bell pepper; finely diced
  • 1/4 Cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 Cup honey
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Place chicken pieces in a shallow baking pan; salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Combine tomato sauce and green pepper. Stir in Worcestershire and lemon juice. Add dry mustard, ginger and cloves; mix well. Stir in honey. Pour over chicken pieces. Turn pieces to coat on all sides.
  4. Bake about 70 minutes. Turn pieces once or twice during baking.
  5. Yields 4 servings.
