Herbed Chevre in Fillo

Serves: 10
  • 11 ounces fresh chevre (goat) cheese log
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 6 sheets Athens or Apollo fillo dough
  • 3 Tablespoons butter; softened
  • 2 Tablespoons bread crumbs
  1. Roil cheese in chopped herbs to cover completely.
  2. Prepare fillo strudel and sprinkle bread crumbs between layers. Roll cheese in layered fillo. Score log 20 times for 1/2-inch slices. Brush outside with butter and place on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit 15 minutes.
  3. Serve warm, 2 slices per portion, with tossed lettuce greens.
