Hard Sauce

Serves: 2 cups
  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 3/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk; beaten
  • 3/4 Cup melted grape jelly
  • 1 pinch grated nutmeg
  1. Cream butter with brown sugar and egg yolk by beating until light and fluffy. Simmer 5 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Add jelly, pour into sauce bowl and sprinkle with nutmeg.
This recipe yields 2 cups.

Each 2-tablespoon serving: 106 calories; 61 g sodium; 33 mg cholesterol; 6 grams fat; 13 grams carbohydrates; 0 protein; 0 fiber.
