Ingredients
- 1 19x23 1/2 oven bag
- 1 Tablespoon flour
- vegetable oil
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 16 to 20 pound turkey, thawed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Shake flour into oven bag; place in large roasting pan at least 2 inches deep. Add celery and onions to bag.
- Remove neck and giblets; rinse turkey; pat dry. Lightly stuff turkey, if desired. Brush turkey with oil and place the turkey in bag. Close bag with nylon tie; cut six 1/2-inch slits in top.
- Insert meat thermometer through slit in bag into thickest part of inner thigh, NOT touching bone. Bake until meat thermometer reads 180 degreees F, 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add 1/2 hour for stuffed turkey. Let stand in bag 15 minutes.
