Fruit and Bulgur Porridge

Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup bulgur
  • 2 Tablespoon rolled oats
  • 1 Tablespoon toasted wheat germ
  • 1 Tablespoon molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 Cup raisins/dried fruit bits
  • 1 1/2 Cups water
Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan stir together all ingredients.
  2. Cover and chill overnight or up to 3 days.
  3. To serve, cook the chilled mixture over medium heat about 8 to 10 minutes or until bubbly; stir frequently.
  4. Serve with milk.
  5. Microwave directions: cook on 100% power for 5 to 7 minutes covered with plastic wrap and vented on small edge of dish. For single serving: place about 1/2 cup of mixture in a bowl and cover with vented plastic wrap. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through and liquid is absorbed, stirring once.

FOR EACH 1/2 CUP SERRVING: 114 CALORIES, 2 GRAMS PROTIEN, 26 GRAMS CARBOHYDRATES, 0 GRAMS FAT, 0 MG CHOLESTEROL, 281 MG SODIUM.
