Fried Bread Rounds (Pan Frito)

Ingredients
  • 1/4 Cup puree Spanish olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed, optional
  • eight 1-inch slices day-old Cuban, French, or Italian bread
Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, heat the oil until fragrant with the garlic, then cook the bread slices until lightly browned, 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Add more oil if necessary. The bread can be cooled and stored in a covered container for serveral days.
