Basic Mustard BBQ Sauce

  • 1/4 teaspoons powdered oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 dash Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 Cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup molasses
  • 1/4 Cup honey
  • 1 Cup prepared mustard (add 2 Tablespoons Jack Daniel's Dijon mustard for a gourmet accent)
  • 1 Tablespoon corn oil
  1. In a stainless steel saucepan, mix the dry ingredients. Add some of the vinegar and stir. Add the rest of the vinegar and the remaining ingredients. Stir. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, and stir continuously for 10 minutes. Makes about 2 cups.
