Treacle Toffee (Losin Du)

Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound treacle (syrup)
  • 1/2 pound demerara sugar
  • 1 Tablespoonful butter
Instructions
  1. Melt butter in a saucepan, then add treacle and sugar. Stir gently. Boil until a few drops poured into cold water set crisp (about 10 minutes). Pour into rectangular greased tin.
  2. When nearly cold cut into sizeable squares. Nuts may be added if liked.
