Caerphilly Scones

  • 1 1/2 ounces butter
  • 3 teaspoons baking-powder
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 ounces Parmesan
  • 3/4 pound flour
  • 1/4 teaspoonful salt
  • 3 ounces Caerphilly cheese
  • about 1/2 pint milk
  1. Sift flour, salt, baking-powder, rub in butter. Grate cheese finely, add to flour with pinch of pepper. Mix well, add enough milk to make soft dough. Roll out half inch thick, stamp into rounds, place on buttered baking sheet. Bake in hot oven 15 to 20 minutes. Serve hot with butter. G7/235C/450F
