Never Fail Fudge

  • 2 1/2 Cups sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can Marshmallow Fluff (7-1/2 ounces)
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 12 ounces semisweet-chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 Cup chopped walnuts
  1. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan, set aside.
  2. In large saucepan combine sugar, butter, evaporated milk, FLUFF and salt. Stir over low heat until blended.
  3. Bring to a full-rolling boil being careful not to mistake escaping air bubbles for boiling.
  4. Boil slowly, stirring constantly, 5 minutes,(soft ball stage).
  5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and chocolate until chocolate is melted. Add nuts.
  6. Turn into greased pan and cool.
  7. Makes 2-1/2 pounds.
  8. MICROWAVE FUDGE INSTRUCTIONS:1. Combine sugar,butter, milk, FLUF and salt in a 4-quart microwave safe bowl.
  9. Microwave at medium high for 2-1/2 minutes, remove and stir until blended.
  10. Microwave at medium high for 5 minutes; remove and stir until smooth.
  11. Repeat step 2.
  12. Microwave at medium high for 6 minutes; remove and stir in chocolate, vanilla and nuts for 5 minutes until thick. Turn in buttered 9x9 inch square pan and cool.
Instructions are for a 600 watt microwave oven. For a different size oven, adjust cooking accordingly.
