Serve with a delicious custard sauce (Creme Anglais), a slightly whipped cream (very soft peaks) or Pistachio sauce (as shown) garnished with pistachios. May also be served with a berry coulis, fresh berries, mango or other fruit depending on the season. Also goes very well with a Zabaglione served as a sauce.

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces German sweet chocolate
  • 1/3 Cup water
  • 8 ounces package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 Cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 12 ounce package whipped topping, thawed (about 3 Cups)
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
Instructions
  1. Lightly grease 8" x 4" loaf pan; line bottom and sides with waxed paper.
  2. Melt chocolate with water in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly.
  3. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in vanilla and chocolate mixture. Fold in 3 Cups of the whipped topping.
  5. Stir in milk. Spread into lined pan. Chill until firm, about 4 hours.
  6. Unmold and remove waxed paper.
  7. Cut terrine into slices and serve with desired topping or sauce.
Notes
Though this recipe calls for prepared whipped topping, we much preferred to make our own whipped cream.

We've added a Tablespoon of Kahlua or Rum to this for exciting results.
