Crempog Geirch (Oatmeal Pancakes)
Recipe type: Breakfast
Cuisine: Welsh
  • 1 pound flour
  • 1/2 pound oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoonful salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ounce yeast
  • 2 teaspoonfuls baking powder
  • milk
  1. The oatmeal should be soaked in water overnight.
  2. Put flour and baking powder in a basin and add the yeast mixed with a little milk.
  3. Add the well beaten egg and then the oatmeal water. Care must be taken not to add too much oatmeal water-the mixture should drop off a spoon, but not be too thin.
  4. Cook as pancakes, spread with butter (and sprinkle sugar on them if desired).
  5. These can also be reheated and eaten with bacon.
