Sweet, succulent crab and shrimp make a glorious casserole dish packed with great flavor. This makes a superb main course day or night.

  • 1 pound crabmeat
  • 2 Cups cooked large shrimp (1 1/4 pounds of shrimp or 2 Cups cooked shrimp)
  • 1 Cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ounce horseradish sauce (or to taste)
  • 3/4 Cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small onion; grated
  • 1 1/2 Cups cubed, buttered bread crumbs; (3 slices of bread plus 1 stick butter)
  1. Make the topping by cubing day-old bread and frying it in melted butter. Toss well. When golden brown, remove from heat and set on paper towels to drain. Set aside.
  1. Mix all ingredients, including half the bread crumbs together.
  2. Spread a greased casserole dish with remaining half of the bread crumbs.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. Serve immediately.
  5. Pairs well with dry white wines.
