A simple but very rich syrup that makes wonderful addition to cakes, and an outstanding soda or addition to beverages.

Cinnamon Sugar Syrup
Recipe type: Liquor
Serves: 36
  • 3 Cups water
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick; 2" long
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1/4 Cup rum; optional
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cook rapidly 20 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

Pour over Greek Walnut Cake.
