This sweet and nutty filling has tart, tangy sour cherries at its core. Perfect for tartlets, pastries, pies and other confections.

Cherry Filling
Recipe type: Fillings
Serves: 4 Cups
  • 16 ounces pitted sour cherries; drained
  • 1/2 Cup raisins
  • 1 Cup coarsely ground walnuts
  • 3/4 Cup sugar
  1. In a large bowl combine cherries and raisins; toss to mix well.
  2. In a medium bowl combine walnuts and sugar. (Amount of sugar depends on tartness of fruit and individual taste.)
  3. Top dough with nut mixture and then with cherry mixture.
Yield: 4 cups.
