We simply love the outstanding flavor of this spread that makes a simple rarebit appetizer. Use the same spread on different breads to give different flavor. Wonderful for all your parties throughout the year.

Cheddar Spread
Recipe type: Appetizers
Serves: 4
  • 1 pound butter
  • 8 ounces Cheddar; sharp, grated
  • 4 ounces Romano cheese; grated
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika; sweet or hot
  1. All the ingredients should be at room temperature before starting this recipe.
  2. Whip slowly, in a medium mixing bowl, with the mixer until the mixture is fluffy.
  3. Spread on bread slices. (Rye, sourdough or regular French bread are great.)
  4. Toast under the broiler until hot and bubbling.
