Italians prepare Brown Buttered Noodles as a side dish when serving roast meats. Its rich butter sauce is intensely flavored with onion, and from slightly burning the butter fats, resulting in a nutty, caramel taste.
- 1 package egg noodles, medium width
- 1/2 Cup butter
- 1 Cup onions, diced
- salt and pepper
- Cook noodles according to package directions, about 5 minutes. Drain.
- Meanwhile, in large saucepan, melt butter until golden brown. Saute onions til tender.
- Add salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
