Essentially, this is Pesto, for all intents and purposes. We like this for flavoring soups and as a garnish more than for a pasta sauce alone. Very rich and aromatic.

Basil-Garlic Sauce
Recipe type: Sauces
Serves: 1 1/2 Cups
  • 1 Cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 Cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 Cup pine nuts
  • 1/2 Cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 Cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 cloves garlic
  1. Place all ingredients in food processor or in blender; cover and process until smooth.
This recipe yields about 1 1/2 cups of sauce.
