This seriously delicious vegetarian burger will surprise you with exceptional taste and texture.
- 4 1/2 Cups water
- 4 1/2 Cups rolled oats
- 1/3 Cup oil or
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1/4 Cup Italian seasoning
- 1/2 Cup soy sauce
- 1/2 Cup nuts, ground
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 Cup flaked nutritional yeast
- Bring all ingredients to a boil. Turn down heat and add 4 1/2 cups rolled oats. Do not stir. Cook about five minutes. Then set aside to cool. Form patties with oiled mason jar lid. Place on oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, turning every 15 minutes. Serve with ketchup or gravy. Makes about 20 ~25 medium sized burgers.
Serve with ketchup or mustard or other condiments of choice. We liked this recipe best with Romaine and Tomato.
