In the Southwest, the Rio Grande is king, not just the well-known, and much-admired river, but this exceptionally delectable cocktail. Cucumber mellows the spicy, tangy flavors.
- 2 ounces cucumber, sliced
- 1 slice jalapeño, seeded
- 1 lemon wedge
- 4 ounces sour mix
- 1 1/2 ounces reposado tequila
- 1 ounce melon liqueur
- In small shaker, muddle cucumber, jalapeño and lemon; fill with ice to top. Add sour mix, tequila and melon liqueur; shake and double strain into martini glass.
- Garnish with cucumber slice.
