Roasted Jalapeno Berry Margarita

Jalapeno Berry Margarita
Recipe type: Alcoholic Cocktails
Cuisine: American
Serves: 1
  • 1/4 pound blueberries and raspberries, mixed
  • 1 1/2 ounces roasted jalapeno-infused tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
  • 1 ounce simple syrup, or to taste
  • 1 lime
  • ice
  • soda water
  • additional lime wedge (for garnish and rim)
  • Kosher salt or sea salt (for rim)
  1. Place the berries in a cocktail shaker. Using a muddler or wooden spoon, thoroughly mash the berries. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, simple syrup and juice of 1 lime. Add crushed ice and shake until chilled. You may also use a Blendtec or other blender to crush the ice and blend this drink.
  2. Spread out a layer of kosher salt (about a tablespoon) onto a small plate. Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a short tumbler. Place the lime soaked rim into the salt. Move the glass around in the salt until the rim is evenly coated.
  3. Fill the glass with coarsely crushed ice and strain the margarita into the glass.* Top with a little soda water and gently stir to combine.
