Iced Mint Tea

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup bruised green mint leaves
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 2 Cups water
  • 6 tea bags; or
  • 12 teaspoons tea leaves
  • 12 Cup boiling water
  • lemon or orange slices; if desired
  • fresh mint leaves
Instructions
  1. Combine mint, sugar and 2 cups water in a saucepan.
  2. Simmer 10 minutes.
  3. Set tea bags and remove from heat.
  4. Steep for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove tea bags.
  6. Cool.
  7. Pour into tall glasses filled with ice.
  8. Garnish with mint and citrus slices.
  9. Makes about 18 glasses
