Hot Buttered Cow
Recipe type: Punches
Serves: 1 batch
  • 1 lb brown sugar
  • 1/4 lb soft butter
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoons cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoons mace
  • 1/4 teaspoons allspice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • dark Rum
  • white or gold Rum
  1. Beat sugar and butter together until thoroughly creamed and fluffy.
  2. Beat in vanilla and spices.
  3. Chill.
  4. For each cup to be served, place 1+1/2 teaspoons batter in a preheated mug along with 1+1/2 ounce dark rum and 1/2 ounce gold or white rum.
  5. Stir well.
  6. Fill with hot milk and serve.
