In our own sour recipe, we replace the sugar with ginger liqueur, which adds an exotic kick. The resulting creation has a bright spicy note that plays well with the whiskey. If you make your own ginger liqueur, this provides one of the best cocktails for its use.

Epicurus Sour
A variation of the classic Whiskey Sour, we eliminate sugar in favor of ginger liqueur with its sweet, exotic flavor. Paired with whiskey, this drink yields a delicious flavor of incredible flavor.
Recipe type: Cocktails
Serves: 1
  • 1 1/2 ounces ginger liqueur
  • 1 ounce blended whiskey
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  1. Put the cherry in the bottom of a martini glass.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously and strain over the cherry into the glass.
