The Black Stripe

  • 2 teaspoons molasses or honey
  • boiling water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 fluid ounces dark Rum
  • ground nutmeg
  • lemon peel
  1. Dissolve molasses in a heatproof mug with a little boiling water.
  2. Add lemon peel and cinnamon stick and more boiling water.
  3. Float rum on top and blaze for a few seconds, if you wish.
  4. Stir to extinguish flames and top with a sprinkling of nutmeg.
