Hot Buttered Cider - Glorious Liqueurs

  • 1 Quart apple cider, preferably freshly pressed
  • 1/4 Cup light corn syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 slices lemon
  • 6 ounces apple liqueur
  1. In a large saucepan, combine the cider, corn syrup, butter, cinnamon sticks, cloves and lemon slices.
  2. Heat over a moderately low flame until the cider is hot and the butter is melted.
  3. Remove from the heat.
  4. While the cider is heating, pour one ounce of liqueur into each of 6 mugs or heatproof glasses.
  5. Pour the hot cider into the mugs and serve at once.
