A delicious wine punch made in Scandinavia for the Christmas season. The tropical flavors of citrus, spices and rum add a warmth to the coldness of the winter season in the far north.
  • 32 ounces dry red wine
  • 1/4 Cup orange juice
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 spiral orange peel
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 8 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1/3 Cup rum
  1. Combine wine, juice, peel, cinnamon, cloves and 4 Tablespoons sugar in saucepan.
  2. Simmer 8 to 10 minutes; strain into punch bowl.
  3. Heat rum slightly.
  4. Place remaining sugar in large metal spoon or ladle.
  5. Light rum with a match; pour over sugar.
  6. Pour burning sugar over punch.
  7. Be careful and ENJOY!
