Named for Scottish folk hero Robert Roy MacGregor, the Rob Roy actually was created in the 1890’s at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria. Basically, it’s a Scotch Manhattan, and thoroughly wonderful.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 ounces Scotch whiskey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry vermouth
  • 1 lemon twist
Instructions
  1. In a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes, combine the Scotch Whiskey and vermouth.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with the lemon twist.
