A meal, often served on weekends, usually in the late morning to mid-afternoon instead of breakfast or luncheon. Quite often egg-based recipes are served, or combinations of breakfast and luncheon recipes.

One of the most common brunch dishes, eaten often at restaurants, is “Eggs Benedict,” a dish created in New York in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. The variety of dishes served for brunch is limitless.
