Advent is a Christian tradition including a schedule of celebrations before the Christmas holiday. It is usually celebrated with a wreath including at least four candles, a calendar, and cookies. The first day of Advent, December 1, is traditionally celebrated with an assortment of baked cookies which usually have some regional or national origin. It is the first season of the Christian church year, leading up to Christmas and including the four preceding Sundays.
