Customer Rating: Summary: Best slow cooker recipe book so far Comment: Having bought a number of slow cooker recipe books in the past (and maybe use one recipe per book), I found this by far the best. Whatever I tried so far has been a success. Many of the recipes are now favourites to be cooked again and again.
Customer Rating: Summary: Slow Cooking Comment: One of several slow cook books I have purchased recently. Excellent for the more adventurous cook. The orange marmalade was rather runny, but it is very good on Pannacotta, ice cream, and as an ingredient in a sauce for duck or gammon.
The oxtail recipe was amazing, as was the Thai pork curry.
Customer Rating: Summary: best of the bunch Comment: Got a slow cooker at Xmas.
Having cooked the recipes in the accompanying leaflet, was looking for inspiration.
Bought three slow cooker books. This is definitely the best one. Timings so simple. Real family recipes that the kids love to eat.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not as good as expected. Comment: I bought this on the strength of the amount of 4 and 5 star reviews but have to say I am a little disappointed in it. Many recipes need too much pre-preparation and some of the ingredients are far from the normal things you'd have in the cupboard and fridge. I think there are better books about. Next time I want a cookery book I think I'll go to Waterstones or WH Smiths in town so I can take a good look before I buy.
Customer Rating: Summary: fast results from slow cooking Comment: my wife requested this item for her birthday after seeing it in public library. She has used it only twice to date but was very pleased with the result, (as was I). The recipe she followed had a mistake in the ingredient listing but she realised this and made the correction herself.(See page 71 - Thyme mentioned in title but omitted in recipe) Also for quantities, one may find 2 tomatoes between 6 people a bit stingy - try 3!! and an increase in amount of potatoes. The addition of juice of 1 lemon adds to that Greek experience. We're looking forward to enjoying a few more dishes.
