Recorded live on the square in front of the imperial Hofburg Palace in the heart of Vienna, this CD includes superb compositions from the most famous Viennese composers: Johann Strauss, Franz Lehár, Emmerich Kálmán, W.A. Mozart, Robert Stolz and many others.
The Johann Strauss Orchestra and Choir are joined in this wonderful concert by the Platinum Tenors, the sopranos Dagmar Koller, Carmen Monarcha, Carla Maffioletti, Mirusia Louwerse and Suzan Erens, the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna debutantes from the Elmayer Dance School, and the interpreter of the traditional Viennese song, Karl Moik.

Comment: I saw this DVD directly on a PBS station on TV and thanks to Amazon I found it to purchase it for my Mom for Christmas. I absolutely love Andre Rieu, I love his music, and specially in this DVD, the wonderful scenes of Vienna just made it on of the best ever. Absolutely recommend it to everyone.

Summary: Good audio cd but...
Comment: Hello all,
I receive this product with the assumption that I was receiving the dvd of his concert in Vienna. But instead it is a dvd with sample from his other dvd's and since I have almost all them now it was of no gain for me.
I admit if a customer do not know Mr. Rieu and orchestra than it is a good promotional dvd.

Summary: Limited Fun and Satisfaction
Comment: If you prefer having Andre's music in CD format you'll enjoy the selections on this CD. The DVD is a bonus piece with selections from several of his other DVD shows. It's a good DVD sampler, but only whets your appetite for more. If you prefer sitting down to a full DVD concert with Andre, then this CD/DVD Bonus Boxed Set may not be for you. I regard the full DVD 'Live in Vienna' as better value for money.
