Customer Rating: Summary: sandals Comment: These look like fine sandals. They are probably a man's sandal, though, as they are quite wide. According to the chart, a woman size 10 shoe would be equivalent to 42. However, that was way too big so I returned them and requested a 40, which is better...still too wide.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fabulous comfort Comment: The only reason I would give this pair 4 stars, is that the black isn't offered in suede. But that may be due to the style being discontinued, the black suede being sold out, etc. Otherwise, I think this pair is very comfortable. I had to laugh when I got them, as they totally remind me of the surgical shoe I had to wear for a while, after foot surgery this summer. Not a bad thing. Just a striking resemblance. I've had Birks before and *love* them, especially NOW, after my surgery. They're about ALL I can wear, actually. I'm lucky to be allowed to wear them in my office, and even keep a pair at work. Fabulously comfortable shoes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tatami Lives! Comment: Tatami Birkenstock Sandals are soooo much better than regular Birkenstocks.
The Tread is not Vibram, so it does wear out faster than some shoes, but this is the case for all Birkenstock sandals (licensed or not). For $30 you can pay a cobbler to put in a heel strike that is stiffer if you want.
You can also have the footbed entirely replaced since it is sewn on.
I wish that more companies would create sandals and shoes that still could be worked on by a professional cobbler, ah change....
If you like Birkenstocks these will add more protection for your toes and they do allow you to walk in shallow puddles. The Tatamis are also suitable for light hikes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tatami by Birkenstock Comment: These shoes are very much like Birenstock's I personally do not like these because the sole is much too soft. I expected a hard sole like my original Birenstock selling for $100.
