Summary: Not a Revolution, weak music, don't buy.
Comment: Here we go, another racist rapper who blames every problem he has had or people that look like him has ever had on white people, the beats are ok, all samples of other peoples music really, rhymes, well some will say truth but really not at all, immortal whatever suffers the big problem most people suffer, unable to except responsibility for their own mistakes and problems, I guess it's just easier to blame someone else for anything wrong in the world and who is the perfect scape goat for low self esteem ignorant racist people like this guy and ( most rappers ), the white man of course, if he has such a problem with America then maybe he should move back to Peru.

Summary: OMG....Unreal
Comment: Believe the Hype....

Best lyrics I have ever heard/read on any rap album...sick hard hitting no joke beats....meaning none of those candy pop beats, club songs, no soft light r&b type songs all jaw dropping.....One of the only rap albums I can listen to nonstop.

Summary: Explosive debut
Comment: I'll admit that I heard of Immortal Technique through a certain reviewer(you know who you are! Thanks a million). Immortal Technique not only has an impressive flow but he also is a conscious lyricist. He has the sickest metaphors I've heard since Canibus and its evidenced in Creation & Destruction(the beat sounds like Biggie's Long Kiss Goodnight), Positive Balance(featuring Big Zoo), the Jean Grae produced Revolutionary etc. He flips it in Spanish and English on No Me Importa. Even though Poverty Of Philosophy is not a song, the truths he spoke on it make it a standout track. Dance With The Devil is vividly told story of a kid who tries to be accepted by an older crowd but the twist is shocking to say the least. The Illest with Jean Grae and Pumpkinhead is just that. As far as skip material goes.. I wasnt feeling Poison Pen's verses on Top Of The Food Chain(Remix) and Beef & Broccoli is just him venting about people who criticize other people's dietary habits. Bottom Line: Immortal Technique's Revolutionary Vol.1 is the best underground release of 2001. Immortal Technique not only has skills, he's giving you gems in the music. Something that commercial rap wont do. Plus the production was not bad. Also recommended: Revolutionary Vol.2. Standout Tracks: CREATIN & DESTRUCTION, DOMINANT SPECIES, POSITIVE BALANCE, NO ME IMPORTA, POVERTY OF PHILOSOPHY, REVOLUTIONARY(my favorite), DANCE WITH THE DEVIL, PROPHECY, NO MERCY, THE ILLEST and SPEAK YOUR MIND.

Summary: Like KRSONE Meets Chuck D with a Better Reading List
Comment: Musically, this is a strong rap album. Lyrically, it's amazing. Immortal Technique is easily the best informed rapper I've heard. Politically concious songs combine good lyrics and a strong grasp of what makes US society tick, as well as memorable music and creative word use to produce what is one of my all time favorite rap albums. Extra bonus: self produced and distributed - so he's not beholden to Megacorp LLC. He's obviously read Chomsky - institutional analysis/criticism in plain words.

If you're bothered by vulgar/violent lyrics, this may not be the choice for you. Since I'm not, it got five stars.

Summary: Intelligent Rap
Comment: Immortal Technique is the best rapper I've heard in years. It's almost like Rage Against the Machine on hip hop beats. He is intelligent, entertaining, humorous, and meaningful at the same time. There isn't a single track on the CD that I don't absolutely love.
