The third installment of Doctor Who is full of new thrills new laughs new heartbreak and some terrifying new monsters. From the moment the Doctor walks into the life of medical student Martha Jones he changes it forever. In Elizabethan London they meet William Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre while back in present day London 76-year-old Professor Lazarus recaptures his youth with consequences that threaten Martha's entire family. And the Doctor's sworn enemies the Daleks who have been hiding in 1930's New York return with a terrifying plan for humanity. Summary: Almost Perfect But.....
Comment: He is by far my favorite Doctor but I love any and all references to previous Doctors and prior companions. Sara Jane Smith was one of my all time best loved in the whole series and I'm glad they brought her back.

The only reason I give this set four out of five stars is because it's missing the best part of the entire season....TIME CRASH!!!!! Where Doctor 10 and Doctor 5 meet for an 8 minute period. This should have been on the DVD set like it is in the UK version. We got ripped off! This was a great feature and I've watched it dozens of times on YouTube. Thank God for that site.

Anyway if that had been included I would have given it top ratings. I like Rose but I don't see the intense relationship with her that most do. After all the Doctor was with Sara Jane for far longer. Are we to believe Rose is the only one he's ever cared for?

No,....me either.

Summary: Best Season Yet!
Comment: Series 3 is the most solid, consistant series of the new Doctor Who to date. A must for fans of the series, and for anyone who likes science fiction this is a nice introduction to the world of "Who." It's not necessary to see the first two seasons, or the 28 years of the old show, to catch up with what's going on, since the new point of view character Martha Jones has no idea, either and new viewers get to learn along with her. Fun stories, very good special effects for TV, funny and sometimes deep at the same time. I worried a little how the series would go forward without either of the original leads, Christopher Eccleston or Billie Piper. But Tennant is much more confident here in his second outing as the Doctor, and creates perhaps the richest characterization of the role since at least Peter Davison and possibly Tom Baker. After taking the first two seasons to establish an identity of its own, the new show her introduces some element of classic Who - the Master, Unit, etc. - while giving them an exciting new spin. John Simm's Master may be over the top, but he's never boring. And the season-long mystery ends up making perfect sense for once and is a lot of fun to re-watch. A fan of the old Who who was lukewarm on the idea of a reboot, this is the season that really hooked me on the "new" show.

Summary: LOVE DR. WHO!
Comment: Great DVD! I love Dr. Who, and I absolutely adore THIS Dr. Who! David Tennant is the coolest Dr. Who ever. I hope that he continues to do the series for many years to come.

Comment: This seaqson was really a great addition to the serise. I like the Martha Jones character. She was trully fresh and exiting to the senses. Not that I didn't like Rose but Martha really did a great job for the forward movment of the series.

Summary: I've had it with this!
Comment: Two and a half stars. The disgust factor outweighed the entertainment value, for me, a fan since the 1980's. Why? The manic pacing in a 40 minute story arc has been my main quibble since the Eccleston debut. Oh it's indeed entertaining, for the most part. But my "love/hate" relationship with all the newer "series" tipped to hate and disgust with the last two episodes here; when, it finally dawned on me--that the current producer is no longer paying homage to what came before his tenure (IF he ever did), but is instead trashing the entire program's history! The trail of dead is enormous; he's killed off the Daleks (for the most part), and (his own creation) the "face of Bo", he's killed off the entire planet of Gallifrey, and also, K-9, (looked that way), and lastly the character of the "Master". He changed the Master to a clean shaven, effete Joker...and with that, I bade farewell to watching any more from this production; because now, it's clear that's it's no longer homage, but nose thumbing, self important aggrandizment, ignoring long time Who fandom, in order to over romantisize and elevate the Doc in a sort of ever accruing messianism. Mark my word, if this continues, the program will get harder aqnd harder to write scripts for, and thus cliches will suffice for ideas, because the ready made history will be lost. As old Tom Baker's doctor would say, "how very odd indeed".
