Editorial Reviews:

The Gripmaster Pro isolates and strengthens each finger individually, helping you improve your overall strength, endurance, and dexterity. A few daily workouts with the Gripmaster Pro and you'll enjoy better control of a baseball/softball bat, tennis racquet, or golf club, with each finger working in seamless unity with the others. You'll also find a ton of other uses for the Gripmaster Pro, including playing guitar or violin, rock climbing, bowling, target shooting, martial arts, yoga, or even relieving stress while clicking a mouse or gaming for hours on end.To keep things interesting and to accommodate certain uses, the company recommends several different exercises, including the "fingertip pinch," "flatfist," "powergrip," "wristflex," and "thumbpinch," most of which are explained on the Gripmaster website. Best of all, you can work out anytime and anywhere with the Gripmaster Pro, which fits neatly in your pocket when not in use. Red - Medium Tension: 7 lbs.Black - Heavy Tension: 9 lbs.Grey - Extra-Heavy Tension: 11 lbs.

Summary: Gorilla grip!
Comment: I bought this item based on other reviews I had read and I highly recommend you consider trying lighter tensions first. The Gripmaster Pro's are a really great product, but after buying the medium and heavy versions, I put them in a drawer and purchased the extra light and light tension units. If you're interested in developing individual finger strength and dexterity you better start with the extra light version. I am actually having a hard time working with it! The light version is now in the drawer, too. No, I'm not a 12 year old girl. I'm a 52 year old man and have worked physically my entire life. I also had double carpal tunnel surgery a year ago and feel I'm pretty much back to where I was before. If you just want to grab them and squeeze the crap out of them using your total hand strength, then go heavy. Otherwise, start extra light. Developing individual finger strength is a whole other story.

Summary: Couldn't be more please!
Comment: I purchased the Prohands heavy tension exerciser because I play guitar and wanted to strengthen my fingers and wrist. I am quite pleased with the results and would gladly recommend this product to any musician.

Summary: If you thought the medium model was hard...
Comment: I already own the GripMaster, which is the older looking version of the Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Red, Medium Tension (7-Pounds per Finger).

I reached the limit of grip and finger strengthening that the medium tension model could give me, so I recently acquired the heavy tension Pro model. I still plan to use the medium tension model to work my pinkies until they are strong enough for this one (Yeah I know, I haven't worked my pinkies as much as I should have!). I've only been using the heavy tension Pro model for a short time but already I am experiencing a whole new level of aching hands!

Well worth the money if you want to improve your grip and finger strength above what the medium one has to offer. Also works great as a stress reliever!
