Summary: Wonderful retrospective!!!
Comment: I recently saw the Otis Redding exhibit at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon. This DVD offers full length performances from his concerts and tv appearances through his brilliant career. I especially enjoyed the interviews with Zelma Redding, his widow, and Steve Cropper. I was disappointed that the DVD lacked interview footage of Otis along with biographical information. Other than that, it's great entertainment and a good value. I strongly recommend the "Stax/Volt Revue Live In Norway 1967" DVD as a companion which features Otis in concert with Eddie Floyd, Arthur Conley, Sam & Dave, and Booker T. and the M.G.'s.

Comment: THIS IS SUCH AN EXCITING DOCUMENTARY! IT HAS A GOOD BALANCE BETWEEN OTIS' PERFORMANCES AND COMMENTARIES FROM THOSE THAT WERE CLOSE TO HIM IN HIS LIFE AND CAREER. THE FOOTAGE OF THE GREAT ONE'S PERFORMANCES BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES FROM OVER 40 YEARS AGO & WHY I FELL IN LOVE WITH OTIS AS A YOUNGSTER. THE FILM WAS NOT TOO SHORT BUT IT WAS SO GOOD THAT IT LEFT ME HUNGERING FOR MORE OF OTIS. HOW SAD THAT HE WAS CUT OFF FROM US WHEN HE WAS: I GUESS GOD WANTED HIM FOR HIS HEAVENLY CHOIR.

Summary: Otis Redding DVD-A Must Buy For Otis Redding Fans
Comment: The new Otis Redding video is very cool. I bought this initially because as a big Otis fan, I typically would buy anything by him. That is why I must have 3 different copies of Otis at the Monterrey Festival. However, this video contains new video clips of Otis that were very cool and that I had never seen before. Dick Clark interviewing Otis Redding on Bandstand was a first for me. The insight that Steve Cropper gives about Otis and the process of songwriting together was also very informative.
Rare video clips, interviews with Otis's widow and Jim Stewart from Stax Records, make this video a must buy. You will dig it! So says Dave the Rave of Relics & Rarities. www.davetherave.com
