Customer Rating: Summary: Still waiting for a reply! Comment: I emailed this company, confessed my ignorance regarding my order, and asked a pretty simple question:
"OK, I'm an idiot. I have a Kindle, and I bought the iGo power tip for it (as suggested by Amazon), but didn't quite understand that I also needed an adapter. Now that brings me to my question: If I typically use the wall charger that came with the Kindle, what is the advantage of the iGo power tip? Guess I thought I could 'charge' the tip and then use it to charge the Kindle when I was away from a power outlet."
Nothing I could find in the description told me an adapter was required, nor gave me any information as to the purpose of this item. Mybad for not doing more investigation prior to placing the order. The Customer Service Manager who fielded my email couldn't answer my question, said she'd forward my question ("I will check with sales"), and 10 days later I still have not received a reply, although I've twice reminded them I am waiting.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wayne Getchel Comment: Bought this as a spare in case I misplaced/lost the original tip. It works great just as advertised
Customer Rating: Summary: iGo A00 power tip for kindle Comment: Pros: Works great, does what I wanted it to do. 4 AA batteries will recharge or run your Kindle anywhere. It's much more convenient to carry than the AC charger, and with the extra tips available, it will charge other components.
Cons: My rechargable NiMH batteries (Duracell & Powerex) are a little too big (diameter), the cover won't fit right, but they work. Alkaline batteries fit fine.
Customer Rating: Summary: A00 Power Tip for use with Kindle Comment: I have tested this with my Kindle, works fine, fit is as good as the stock charger
Customer Rating: Summary: iGo with Me Comment: The usefulness of this product really cannot be overstated. I use a Power Tip for my cell phone as well. With the Kindle (a product as revolutionary as Gutenberg's moveable type) Power Tip and the iGo, there is virtually no place you cannot go--my favorite is on the beaches of Northern California, and on any of the islands of Hawaii. No hot spot areas to worry about, no plugging in and having to be connected to the Kindle while it's being charged. You're free to charge and read in a cave or on Haleakala crater.
