Summary: Great price, great product
Comment: I bought this as a gift for my husband, who had used these types of items in the past. We had previously purchased small plastic ones, but this one tops them all. It's bigger than the others and made much sturdier. It also has a thin chain inside of it, not a string, which is much stronger. My husband, who had unintentionally broken all the others, loves it. And the price was just right.

Summary: Solid but Destructable
Comment: O.K. I had gone through 4 plastic badge reels in 2 years and was looking for something more durable. Another review said these were indestructible, this is not the case as I have had one explode on me. It came totally apart and is now unserviceable. The reason I still give them 4 stars is I ordered 6 for my work colleagues and only one has blown apart, the others are still going strong. So I may have just got a bad apple. They really are solid and do have a nice finish.

Summary: Very Heavy Duty, not exactly what I was looking for
Comment: These things are built like little tanks but that comes at a draw back. The chain is too short and you need to pull really hard. Not exactly what I was looking for, but for the time being, there getting the job done.

Comment: I got this in addition to the other because a) normal holders break under continued use and where I work, I am constantly pulling on chain and b) for more options with clothing - this works great and I don't have to worry about snapping it apart. This one actually has a metal link chain and it's heavier so you'll never miss it.

Comment: This is a great reel key chain. I work at a zoo and am always having to go for my keys to unlock doors. My previous (free) reel chain broke in about 2 months. This is definitely heavy duty enough to withstand the near-constant use (abuse?) I am putting it through.
My only minor complaint is that the chain is a tiny bit shorter than my previous, non-chain reel. Still, I almost never have problems reaching the locks -- at most, once a month (again, out of almost near-constant use). I'd really rather give this 4.5 stars than 4 over this tiny matter. If a friend or new hire asked my opinion, I would send them to this product ASAP.
