The world's smallest digital music player, the 1GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt. Clip on iPod shuffle and wear it as a badge of musical devotion. You know what they say about good things and small packages. But when something 1.62 inches long and about half an ounce holds up to 240 songs, "good" and "small" don't quite cut it. Especially when you can listen to your music for up to 12 continuous hours. In fact, iPod shuffle just may be the biggest thing in small.Clip it to your coin pocket. Clip it to your bag. No matter where you clip your skip-free iPod shuffle, you'll have instant access to music. And iPod shuffle's anodized aluminum enclosure goes with absolutely everything. Put it on, turn it up, and turn some heads.Got more than 240 songs in your iTunes library? No problem. Let iTunes autofill your iPod shuffle and get a new musical experience every time. Pop follows jazz. Rock follows rap. iPod shuffle loves to improvise. Take the Shuffle switch, for instance. Even if you've synchronized a particular playlist, you can shuffle songs with a flick.

Customer Rating: Summary: Ipod Comment: This Ipod came SUPER-FAST! I like to use it while running. The clip stays tight and is very convenient. Holds a good charge and comes with everything needed to start playing music right away. Would have been five stars, but it can be purchased pretty much everywhere for the same price.
Customer Rating: Summary: the best mp3 player for running and workouts Comment: If you like music when you workout, this is the player for you. It's VERY small, so it's easy to clip onto your shirt or hat. No need for the armband or any of the extras.
Controls are simple. If you have iTunes, getting music on and off is simple. And even the 1GB is enough for 250 songs, which is plenty to keep most people entertained.
Sure, it doesn't have some of the features as other players. No screen, no FM radio, no voice recorder. But it has what I need, which is great for me.
Headphones, like the rest of the ipod headphones, are no good. Invest a few bucks there and you've got a winner.
Bottom line-- I love this thing. In fact, I have pretty much stopped using my iPod Classic since this handles everything I need so well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ipod as fashion accessory Comment: For my wife's birthday, I got her a purple Ipod Shuffle (1 gb) and gave her my Grado SR 60 headphones for stationary listening (the stock ear buds are for on the go--we do need something better, though). She loves the Shuffle. It is tiny, clips on to a shirt pocket or collar, and holds a lot of tunes. As many are now eschewing full length CD's for downloaded singles, one can pick just the songs that one desires. Nice. In an informal survey in one of my classes, almost all of my students preferred downloading what songs they wanted and had pretty much stopped purchasing regular cds. I still buy cds--regular and SACD--but I'm used to buying albums, not singles (okay, when I was a kid, I used to buy 45's).
The Ipod shuffle is easy to use. It is highly portable and small. The sound is adequate. One could use a headphone amplifier and better headphones, but that just takes away from the portability. The Shuffle sounds pretty good with Grado SR 60 cans (but they are big and the cord is rather too robust). Anyway, my wife is happy (and thus, so am I).
You can't go wrong with the Ipod Shuffle. It looks good, sounds good, and is easy to use. Now, I just wish that I had sprung for the 2 gb version. C'est la vie.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Little Ipod Comment: Its Great for an Ipod this Small, If you need to do exercise, this is the ipod for you.
Customer Rating: Summary: Was it Amazon or Apple's fault? Comment: Let me first say that I love this shuffle - it is perfect for moving around the house or taking a walk while being able to listen to tunes or podcasts. Sure, it doesn't hold as many songs as the big guys but for my use it's great. And when I get tired of the songs I am listening to, then I just go on to itunes and change them. No muss, no fuss.
The problem (and hence the 3 stars) was because the battery wasn't holding a charge even when I turned it off. Sometimes I only use it once a week and everytime I went to use it, the battery was dead. So I phoned Apple and their customer service is most excellent. They said that the battery should be holding its charge and they would send me a new one. They put a hold-charge on my credit card for the new one and once I returned the old one, they would cancel the charge. They sent the new one within a couple days with an easy return envelope (they paid all the shipping). Haven't had a problem yet with the new one but I have only had for a few days. Question is: does Amazon sell inferior products or was this just a fluke?
