Editorial Reviews:

The Snore Wizard Mouthpiece The Snore Wizard Mouthpiece is a simple and effective oral device for use in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. Made of special soft feel plastic it comes ready to use. There is no heating or moulding required to achieve a correct fit and you still continue to breathe through your mouth. The SnoreWizard moves the lower jaw slightly forward and holds the mouth slightly open. This improves the airflow at the back of the throat and eliminates snoring in most cases. The Snore Wizard was developed by a dental surgeon and the product has undergone numerous clinical trials in which it was found to reduce snoring and sleep apnea in 94% of research subjects. The Snore Wizard was designed to increase the space behind the tongue by bringing the lower jaw (mandible) forward, opening the airway in the throat and eliminating snoring. Why Most People Snore Normally air passes through the throat to the lungs silently and unhindered. In snorer's however, fatty tissue, tonsils and adenoids can narrow passageways, creating turbulence that makes the throat tissue vibrate. The problem can be exacerbated by excess body weight and/or excessive alcohol consumption prior to sleeping. Snoring has nothing to do with the nostrils. How To Best Prevent Snoring Snoring will not occur if the airway in the throat remains open. This can be accomplished by holding your lower jaw slightly forward during sleep. This is the exact reason that The Snore Wizard was invented. Snoring problems and the more severe form, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) are common problems found in many households. OSAS is the most well manifested form of snoring diseases in which the affected person stops breathing during sleep due to an obstruction of the airway passage towards the lungs. Due to sleeping problems the affected individuals perform day time activities at a very reduced level, which gives rise to a wide range of problems, both from a medical and a social behavioral point

Summary: It works
Comment: This product works for me. It was not comfortable the first two weeks. I got used to it afterward. My wife does not complain any more.

Summary: Expensive, Ineffective, and Possibly Dangerous
Comment: Perhaps a good original idea, but poorly designed and manufactured and too darn expensive. There's no mechanism to hold it in place and if sleeping on your back, it can potentially cut loose and sufficate you. Note that you only get the upper one and the hope is that you hold your mouth firmly shut and press the upper and lower teeth against each other so that it never has a chance to break loose, but reality is quite different from theory. One star for trying and the good idea behind the front opening to allow some air in, but not practical or safe unless you never turn around to sleep on your back and subconciously learn to keep this thing firm in its place.

Summary: I have not slept this good in years!!!!
Comment: Having been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and not able to tolerate the CPAP machine very well. The Snore Wizard has allowed me to wake up not feeling exhausted for the first time in a very long time. To say that it is a life saver is an understatement. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the fact that the edges on the bottom tab behind your lower teeth are not rounded. It took several attempts to trim it and get it to not hurt my gums and cause discomfort. If they would modify the product to give a rounded edge I think it would be perfect. Try it. If you are having sleep issues, this maybe the best solution and it's cheaper than a CPAP machine. It takes some time getting used to, but give it a few days, you will wake refreshed.

Summary: helpful, could use minor improvements
Comment: Device works, for the most part. But could use a better fit. One size doesn't fit all. So if they could work on that then this would be a more popular item. And if they made the air hole larger that would be a plus as well. Item worked for me, but not when sleeping on my back. Takes time to get used to as well. Awakend to find it missing many times. But overall very helpful.

Summary: This Works Great
Comment: I got this for my girlfriend, who says I snore pretty loud and keep her awake pretty often. She says it works like a charm, that my snoring stopped immediately. Personally I never had a problem with snoring since I'm asleep anyway. However I do think I get a better night's sleep with my airway more open. I never had any jaw pain or any of the things they mention on the snore wizard web site. The only con is that my mouth can get pretty dry, but then again it did that sometimes anyway. Overall, I'd recommend this product to anyone who wants to stop their snoring.
