Editorial Reviews:

Knize - the aristocratic men's line for more than 60 years. The history of Messrs. J. Knize dates back to the year 1858 in Vienna. Within short time, the fashion tailor J. Knize was appointed purveyor to K&K Royal Court. By the turn of the century many personalities, heads of states, artists, and industrialists were clientele to Knize's fashion. During the twenties Knize's exclusive men's shops were established in the fashion cities of Paris, New York, London and Berlin. Knize Ten is a unique fragrance of rare leathery notes. It was created in 1927 at the Paris Knize and was a true classic among men's fragrances.

Summary: A classic fragrance
Comment: I've used Knize Ten for many years, and have found it a subtle yet complex scent, slightly woodsy with a leather topnote. It's very masculine, not at all flowery, and won't be mistaken for any woman's scent. It's become harder to find lately (Caswell-Massey, my usual supplier, no longer carries it). First created in Vienna in the 1920s, it has a long history, and is one of those scents that will never be out of fashion. I just wish that Kinze would bring back Knize Two, which hasn't been made for years, but which I liked even more.
